Fundraising organisation to add £1 to every Payroll Giving pledge
Tuesday October 14th, 2008
Hands On Helping today launched a new initiative, Pounds for Pledges.
Hands On promotes Payroll Giving to over 800 companies and over 45 exclusively. From today, for every donation pledged through company Payroll Giving Schemes, Hands On will donate a pound to the individual’s chosen charity.
Hands On Helping, established in 1995, is the longest standing PFO in the UK and has raised over £15 million for charity to date. It is the first and only PFO to be making donations in this way. The National Payroll Giving Award-winner this month launched Pounds for Pledges to emphasize its support for the dedication and continuous hard work of over 85 charities that it represents.
Wendy Tapping, Chief Executive of Hands On said: “We are delighted to be contributing back to the third sector. We want to highlight the benefits of supporting charity through a Payroll Giving Scheme. An extra £900 million could be made every year for charities if all donations were made this way.”
Jasmin Rana, Donor Marketing Officer at Alzheimer’s Society said: “Payroll Giving has shown itself to be one of the most effective ways for people and companies to donate to Alzheimer’s Society. Pounds for Pledges promise to boost the profile of this simple, easy scheme that provides us with reliable contributions. I hope employers across the UK give the campaign their fullest support.”
Hands On Helping will be promoting Pounds for Pledges nationwide within all companies they visit.
